An Affectionate Monkey vs a Protective Lion

This thought-provoking story compares the affectionate monkey and the protective lion, revealing a powerful lesson about true love and loyalty. Sometimes, love isn’t about grand gestures—it’s about who stands by you when it truly matters.

A married couple visited a zoo and came across a male and female monkey. The male was playing and showing love to the female. The wife said to her husband, “What a romantic animal.”

Soon after, they came across a lion and a lioness. The lion sat alone in silence, away from the lioness, showing no emotion. The wife said to her husband, “What a sad scene with no love.”

Her husband then said, “Throw a stone at the lioness and watch.” When she did, the lion roared with anger, ready to defend his mate.

The husband then told her to do the same with the monkey. When she threw the stone toward the female monkey, the male quickly jumped up, climbed a tree, and abandoned her to save himself.

The husband explained, “Don’t let your eyes deceive you. Some people may appear loving and affectionate, but when hardship comes, they will choose themselves over you because their hearts are empty. Others may not openly express love, but when you need them, they will stand by you, even sacrificing themselves for you. That is true love.”

Nowadays, there are more monkeys than lions.
