Prophet Yaqub

Prophet Yaqub was the son of Prophet Ishaq (Isaac) and the grandson of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham). He had twelve sons, with one of them being Prophet Yusuf (Joseph). Yaqub was known for his wisdom, patience, and devotion to Allah.

Yaqub's sons were jealous of their brother Yusuf because their father loved him the most. They became envious of Yusuf's special status and his ability to interpret dreams. One day, they plotted against him and threw him into a well, pretending that a wolf had attacked him.

Yusuf was eventually rescued from the well by travellers who sold him as a slave in Egypt. Despite facing many trials and hardships, including being falsely accused and imprisoned, Yusuf remained steadfast in his faith.

Meanwhile, back home, Yaqub mourned the loss of his beloved son Yusuf for many years. His eyes even turned blind from crying so much. However, he never lost hope in Allah's mercy and continued to pray for Yusuf's safe return.

Eventually, Yusuf's ability to interpret dreams led him to a high-ranking position in Egypt, where he gained authority and power. Years later, during a severe famine, Yusuf's brothers came to Egypt seeking food. They didn't recognise Yusuf, but he forgave them and revealed his true identity.

Yusuf invited his family, including his father Yaqub, to come and live with him in Egypt, where they were reunited after many years of separation. Yaqub's eyesight was restored upon hearing the news of Yusuf's survival and reunion.

The story of Prophet Yaqub teaches us about patience, perseverance, and trust in Allah's plan. Despite facing immense trials and challenges, Yaqub remained steadfast in his faith, and Allah eventually rewarded him with the joy of reuniting with his lost son.
