Prophet Lut
Prophet Lut was sent by Allah to guide the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, two cities known for their wickedness and immorality. The people of these cities engaged in sinful acts and ignored the warnings of Prophet Lut to mend their ways.
Lut preached to his people, urging them to abandon their sinful behaviour and worship only one God. He warned them of the consequences of their actions and reminded them of the fate of past nations who had faced divine punishment for their disobedience.
Despite Lut's sincere efforts to guide them, the people of Sodom and Gomorrah persisted in their sinful ways. They mocked Lut and refused to listen to his message, continuing to indulge in immorality and injustice.
In response to their defiance, Allah sent angels to Prophet Lut to deliver a severe punishment to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. The angels arrived in the form of handsome young men, and Lut welcomed them into his home.
When the people of Sodom and Gomorrah learned of the visitors, they surrounded Lut's house and demanded that he hand them over. Lut pleaded with his people to abandon their wicked intentions and to fear Allah's punishment, but they refused to listen.
In the end, Allah destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah with a terrible punishment, raining down upon them stones of baked clay. The destruction was swift and complete, leaving behind only ruins as a reminder of their fate.
Lut and his family were spared from the destruction, as they were the only believers among the inhabitants of the cities. They were instructed by the angels to leave the cities and not to look back. However, Lut's wife disobeyed this command and was consequently included in the punishment.
The story of Prophet Lut serves as a warning against the consequences of indulging in sinful behaviour and rejecting divine guidance. It emphasises the importance of obedience to Allah's commands and the need to uphold morality and righteousness in society.
